Begin creating this look by completely drying your hair with a hairdryer and brush of your choice, and make sure that the hairline is smooth and straight.
TIP To create extra volume, use a round brush and over direct the hair while blowing out the root. Set rollers at the crown of the head for an extra lift.
Once the hair is dry and smooth, you will then find your part and section the hair into four quadrants.
TIP: Every section should be clipped back, leaving out only the section that you are working on.
You will take a 1 – 1 1/2 inch piece of hair (depending on your hair texture) from the back section and create a wave by wrapping the hair around your 1 1/4 inch curling iron or wand. (If you are using a curling iron, you don’t have to un-clamp the iron.)
TIP: Always make sure that you are holding the curling iron with the tip of the iron pointing directly towards the floor. If you are working on the left side of the head, hold the curling iron with your right hand and use your left hand to wrap the hair around the wand. Place the iron behind the piece that you are working on, not in front of the piece. This will create the wave to curl away from the face.
Use this technique for all four sections. Once you have curled the entire head, finish the look off with a hairspray and use your fingers to lightly comb through the hair.
