It’s a sunny Thursday evening, the type of day one wishes would fall on a weekend. Spending the day outdoors, BBQing, having a drink with friends, or perhaps going to a music festival would be the ticket on a day like this, yet I find myself in The Yard at IPR London… doing basically all of the above, in celebration of the outdoor life for Timberland…… the “go anywhere do anything” clothes that will keep you #inmyelement.

There’s not many labels that are able to keep you warm and dry in sub freezing conditions, plus keep you comfy in the urban sprawl of the city, but Timberland delivers just that.
I start my outdoor experience doing what every true blue Aussie does EVERY weekend, no not drinking (that comes after)….. BBQing on the weber! Now, I’m not going to lie, I LOVE MY WEBER… and I judge my fellow-man harshly if you don’t enjoy the smoky aroma that cooking over coals and scented woods adds to your foody delights. Yes, I can hear you say “but you’re a model and you live off dust and air” I roll my eyes at that. I long ago left behind my mega skinny ideals for greener pastures. The industry no longer requires us to be thin waifs and I’m gobbling up my cheesy burger with gusto and shoving a beer can up a chickens arse is now rather appealing to me.

My next point of call is the skateboard area… I was just at the skatepark in Southbank last weekend, it’s where street art and skaters come together, sitting next to the Thames its one of the best places to enjoy watching the skaters do their tricks whilst munching popcorn and watching the light dance on the water. I do hope they get to keep the area for future London skaters like my daughter Roxette who seems totally stoked on the idea, and now that Timberland has gifted her, her very own personalized skateboard, looks like the skategirl world has a newbie in the making… totally sick. (skater slang, look it up posers!)

On the Thinking Drinkers desk they are hosting an eclectic range of irreverent tastings for those thirsty to learn more about where the best watering holes in London are plus have a cheeky or two. No complains there!

Last of all we are learning to DJ with a member of the Point Blank team. Being a DJ is an amazing job, it gives you the opportunity to express yourself in a totally unique way. You can share your own taste and style introducing people to new music and sounds, its gives people lifetime experiences and most importantly it makes people move. Dancing is what a great weekend is all about for me.
