Monki has the pleasure to announce that it has teamed up with well-known Swedish fashion designer and couturier Ida Sjöstedt for a limited capsule collection. Ida Sjöstedt for Monki is a playful party collection, where the designer’s well-known romantic aesthetics meet Monki’s fun-loving attitude. It will be released on 23 April in all the retail concept’s twelve markets in Europe and Asia.
“I wanted to find that magical combination of maxed out romance, a luxurious feel and youthful cheekiness,” Ida Sjöstedt says. “It’s full of sweet pastels, electric cornflower blue, soft materials and just as soft silhouettes—these are clothes to have fun in.”
The collection consists of precisely that: nine garments with a high quality feel, designed for a good time. The dresses, dress pants, shorts and matching t-shirts are all defined by different variations of a specially designed print in either sweet turquoise or electric blue. Key items are a romantic maxi dress and a luxe tee with matching sporty shorts that make up a very modern, attitude-filled look that is still every bit as festive.
This is the third time Monki and Ida have collaborated on a collection.
“Monki and Ida share a love of imagination, and of the way a fashion experience can add flair to every day life” says Monki head of design and buying, Sofia Wallin. “So we’re really excited to launch this capsule. Its romantic tone is spot-on for this season, and we think our Monki girls will love its luxe fantasy feel.”
With more than 80 shops in nine European countries, Japan, Mainland China and Hong Kong and an online store that delivers to 18 European countries, Monki has grown explosively since it was founded in 2006. Monki is owned by H&M.
